Ash Khan

Ash Khan is a seasoned veteran in the insurance industry, with over two decades of experience in underwriting risks across the AMEA region. He is involved in the whole spectrum of natural resource risks including oil and gas, power and construction. Prior to joining Starr, he held leadership positions at AIG, Talbot Underwriting, and QBE, where he played an instrumental role in expanding the underwriting capabilities of their Power and Energy teams.

Bhurima is a director based in the Bangkok Office, she joined MDD Forensic Accountants’ Singapore office in 2011 and relocated to Thailand to set up and manage the firm’s Bangkok office in 2016. Her forensic accounting expertise spans a wide range of practice areas, quantifying economic damages for both the insurance industry as well as complex commercial litigation and arbitration.

Dr. Derek Gong is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Oskefer Consulting. A Chartered Engineer (UK) and Professional Member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining, he has over 18 years of expertise in failure investigation, root cause analysis, and expert witness. Derek co-founded Oskefer Consulting to provide specialized engineering consultancy to the insurance industry. His current focus is investigating failures in relation to power and energy sectors.

Ian is a Partner at Clyde & Co. He is an insurance and reinsurance specialist who advises on Energy matters, property policies, construction disputes and commercial disputes. Ian is qualified in England & Wales and Hong Kong. He also sits as an arbitrator. Ian has worked in Bangkok, Singapore and Hong Kong since 1999. Ian’s particular experience of the Energy sector has led him to deal with Gas and Steam Turbines, Generators, Wind Turbine disputes, Biogas issues and liability matters.

Julio is seasoned insurance broker with over 25 years in the game starting his career as a Broker in the North American Property Division in London. From there, he took on the role of Director at Heath Lambert, focusing on building Global Power Utility business with a bias for handling Asian domiciled risks. Julio was one of the founding partners at Alesco Risk Management London, where he focused in developing strategies for Asian Energy clients such as The Aboitiz Group and Powetek Berhad, Petron, etc before moving to Thailand in 2013.

Liam has over 30 years of experience in the industrial power generation and oil & gas markets in Asia Pacific. Starting his career as a boiler design engineer in Sydney with Babcock in the late 1980’s, he has carved a career path from boilers to gas and steam turbines, cogeneration and combined cycle plants in markets as diverse as China, Australia and throughout ASEAN. Liam is currently the Asia Pacific Head of Sales for Industrial Gas Turbines in Siemens Energy and is located in Bangkok, Thailand.

Kelly Dallas

Kelly M. Dallas has 20 years in Power Generation from Nuclear, Gas Turbines, Wind and Solar in various senior positions. He has both negotiated and managed investments into wind and solar projects across North America and Europe in excess of 4GW providing a deep understanding and knowledge of the market and opportunities. Kelly has held various senior roles in Eskom Energia, Energia Renewables, Bord Gais Energy, Blackrock and Platina Partners LLP, the CEO of Tech Software company NovoGrid, and Wind Energy Holdings (Thailand).

Mark has been in international practice in Singapore for nearly 25 years and is recognised as one of the region’s leading insurance and reinsurance dispute resolution lawyers. Mark’s primary focus is on resolving property, energy, engineering, construction and associated business interruption/DSU claims. He has particular interest in losses in the power generation sector. Mark is also regularly instructed to advise on, and pursue, complex cross-border subrogated recovery actions.

Nathan Mclellan

Nathan joined Liberty in 2008 and leads the First Party Claims team for Asia Pacific, encompassing Agriculture, Marine, Energy, Power, Property, Construction and War & Terrorism. He is responsible for ensuring a proactive, technically sound, and commercially pragmatic Claims service across these product lines. Nathan has also served as Chief Legal Counsel and the Head of Risk & Governance for Asia Pacific and previously qualified as an accredited mediator in Australia. Prior to joining Liberty, Nathan worked in both private practice and in-house legal roles.

UK Chartered Engineer and Loss Adjuster. Worked on construction sites and as a designer in Africa and the Middle East, Started as a loss adjuster in 1990 handling a wide variety of losses in the UK and acting as engineer for project managed subsidence claims. Moved to Asia in 1994. Based in Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore before returning to Thailand to join the Sedgwick office in Bangkok in 2016. During his time in the region, he has directly handled or supervised claims on many major infrastructure and power projects.

With 28 years of international experience, Patrick has held leadership roles in both the renewable energy and automotive sectors, managing a broad range of general management responsibilities. As President APAC of K2 Management, he spent ten years in Asia leading offshore and onshore wind, as well as solar projects, covering all phases from development to construction and technical advisory. He also serves as Vice President of the Thai Wind Energy Association (ThaiWEA).

Titus Samuel

Titus is an energy and power generation industry professional with over 20 years experience, having started out in the onshore petrochemical design and construction industry as a Piping Engineer, with Japanese and French EPC contractors in the early 90s. In 2017, Titus decided to tweak his career again but this time within Chubb, moved to the world of underwriting. He is Chubb’s Head of Power Generation and Utilities for Asia and is responsible for the underwriting of the Operational Power Generation portfolio for the region.

In this role, he focused on strategies to enhance Singapore’s global standing in business, innovation, and talent. He facilitated investment opportunities and negotiations for major Energy and Renewables companies. He was also engaged in Energy Transition Strategy Development which involved exploring areas such as Carbon Capture Utilisation & Storage, Hydrogen, Low-Carbon Power Generation and Carbon Credits.

Warit is recognized as one of the Green Energy Trading experts in Thailand to support corporates access sufficient green energy supply and Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs)
