Som has been in the Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution industry for 29years, served the conventional power generation space and Grid in various capacities including O&M, T&C, design, and engineering. Som completed his bachelor’s in EE from NIT-Rourkela, India and his master’s from Walden University, Minneapolis, US. In his current capacity, Som leads Asia engineering functions to serve customer Biz needs and supports the lifecycle of GE Vernova’s Gas Power assets in Asia. He supports the decarbonization initiative for Asia, including opportunities in carbon neutral fuels like Hydrogen, Ammonia, and carbon capture technologies, among others. Som published two patents in the power generation and protection space.
